The Event

The 2008 ‘A Chair Affair’ is coming soon!

Since 1999, A Chair Affair has become the signature event for Community Living London. The funds raised by this unique event have enabled Community Living to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. This year will mark the 10th and final Chair Affair. Help Community Living London to send the event off in style by being a part of it!

As always, there will be Corporate Muskoka Chairs as well as the work of many local artists (including members of the Forest City Decorative Artists) who have donated their time and talent decorating chairs and other auxiliary items. These items will be auctioned off in a week-long silent auction at White Oaks Mall from June 13 until June 20. This year’s event will again feature many Best Seat in the House items including Toronto Maple Leafs tickets, Stratford Shakespeare Festival tickets, golf foursomes and many more.

The silent auction will close and the best 15 items will be featured in a Live Auction on June 21 at the Four Points Sheraton (1150 Wellington Road South, London). Tickets for the fabulous finale event are $100 each (tables of 8-10 can be reserved) and include the following:

- Dinner
- Wine service at dinner
- $50 tax receipt per ticket
- Awards presented to Dr. Ken & Mrs. Jean Wright, The Forest City Decorative Artists and to Angelo’s
- Performance by Jazz Vocalist Denise Pelley (view her website: http://www.denisepelley.com/)

There are also raffle tickets available for the chance to win a hand-painted armoire with a 25” television included. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling 519-686-3000 or by visiting one of our friendly volunteers at White Oaks Mall from June 13-30. They will also be sold at the gala, if not yet sold out.
