Chairity Event of the Year
Life Members, Dr. Ken and Jean Wright, first discovered the ‘chairity’ fundraising event during a vacation in Atlanta, Georgia. Sponsored by two local furniture manufacturers, the event included a week-long silent auction culminating with a gala and live auction on the final evening.
Ken and Jean brought the idea back to London in 1999, and the "Chairity Gala of the Year" has become one of the major fundraisers for Community Living London ever since!
Over the years, the event has made some changes as it has grown. What began as an event that showcased only local talent with our generous and talented artists also grew into an event that included local corporations taking part in the Muskoka Chair Challenge as they sponsored and decorated a Muskoka Chair to be auctioned off.
Now, in 2006, the event is making yet another change as we introduce the ‘Best Seat in the House’ auction. Exciting packages have been put together to be auctioned off as ‘the best seat in the house’ to compliment the chairs and other auxiliary items being auctioned off.
