URBAN GRACE Artist: Jane Forbes Sophistication presents itself in this chair with its combination of a contemporary fabric and colour, framed in silver. The outcome is a sophisticated, uncomplicated chair. The inspiration to paint this chair silver, was the chair itself. The straight lines of this chair with its slightly flared and arched back were similar to those designed within the 1920’s Art Deco era. The regal purple seat--with the fabric in a slightly grooved texture--provides the very ‘era-appropriate’ and elegant compliment to the silver finish. The decorator of this chair is Jane Forbes, who has been a London and area Interior Decorator for several years. She has studied Interior Design through The Canadian Institute of Business, as well as Brecia and Fanshawe College. Her signature style is considered ‘Urban Grace’; sleek, mercurial, and polished. www.janeforbes.ca |

A sure sign of Spring If anyone is interested in having a creative, hand painted piece of furniture or accessory in their home, please contact me at 438-7455. |

“Ladies Gloves“ Artist: Suzanne Jessberger 13404 Ilderton Road, R.R. 3 Ilderton, Ontario NOM 2AO While visiting a Woodworking/Painting shop in the fall of 1997, I spotted a Linda Lock painting of purple tulips that I simply had to have. I was told it was not for sale but I could learn to paint and do my own. I was assured that I did not need any artistic training, my desire would be enough. Thus, I learned to paint and, yes, I have my tulips. I moved to Ilderton in 2002 when my husband retired and immediately contacted the Forest City Decorative Artists’ Guild. With this great group, I grew and pushed my boundaries. I am still painting and now experimenting with different media. Custom orders take up a lot of my time, but I still have time for friends and family. |
